6 hour drive for dreams to be dashed in 4 minutes
Good day out though. Going to watch Saints in a big match is a bit like taking cocaine, the anticipation is better than the actual event. Was good to meet a few of the Toon lads pre game too including a sober Schlem
Thought the atmosphere was a touch disappointing though considering their biggest home march for decades. Was ear piercingly loud at start and for first 5 minutes but quietened down quickly. In fairness though they might have been shocked into silence at just how poor we were early on.
Baffling decision making in the starting eleven from our manager. Fancy throwing in a championship right back for his debut in this game of all games ffs. Also starting our best midfielder on the bench for both legs but giving him 80 mins v Blackpool. Ridiculous.
On a positive note I've just found our my car doesn't have to pay for the clean air zone
Now to find a cafe for a fry up and get ready for the long journey home. Roll on the FA Cup.
