Why the desperation to enter a competion that you've got **** all chance of winning?

I suppose it's a different way of ultimately entering the euro league, with some lucrative group stage matches thrown in, but it's not a trophy and the only people benefiting from the commercial element is whichever 'board' gets its greedy mits on the cash, the fans get zero benefit from it.

i think regardless of wether you have a chance to win it or not…it’s important for clubs like Spurs to attract the talent required to chase the dreams the club aspire to…plus it’s a cup comp….you never know…look at Liverpools easy run to the final this year.
