I think it's based on arrogance because the disdain for smaller trophies all comes from (imo) this bullshit notion that the PL is the 'bEsT lEaGuE iN wOrLd!!" and that playing in it is the be all and end all for clubs.

That's just my opinion though and we obviously differ. Either way though I still don't see why a smaller club like Leicester should be mocked for winning it (should they do so). It'd be a bit like Swansea fans being mocked for celebrating their LC win.

Personally I'd take winning the ECL over any position in the PL other than first and would be delighted to even qualify for it. Each to their own though.

I’m not mocking Leicester, I’m mocking Fosse because if they do go on and win it, we will never hear the last of it. When I pointed out my own small little club won the FA cup, it didn’t count because I wasn’t old enough to see it.
You support a team which beyond a few small hiccups, are an established PL team. For you the natural next steps are either a domestic cup or an adventure in Europe. I do understand that and have been there myself , even if it was briefly.
However, outside of the PL it’s a different story and one which is getting worse by the year. Survival, stability and hopefully promotion will always be more important than a day out in Europe.
However, I will be routing for the Spammers, Leicester, Liverpool or City if they get to the finals

I’m genuinely pleased for you, memories for a lifetime.
But other clubs have been as successful and in some cases more successful. When that’s pointed out, suddenly you add certain timelines which are meaningless and make you look a twat.

Only one of us looking a twat mate ... and for someone whose preference is 'stability' you are looking anything but ... <laugh>

Pretty much my thoughts ... there is nothing like winning trophies, be it as modest as the League One title ... but winning the biggest ones and then getting the oppirtunity to play against European 'names' is footballing dreams for all but the plastics who are able to choose 'success'' and that opportunity... and we are only in a European semi because we happened to have a very successful season behind us ...

You got invited to play in it because your club had failed in the competition

We'll agree to disagree mate. As said on here many times I can't stand the PL and want us out of it. The only positive about it is the outside chance of Europe or a cup final (a losing one obvs cos we're Saints).

Not invited Roy ... you 'qualify' for it by finishing third in the Europa group ... no different to entering the Europa League from the Champions League <cheers>

No you got invited into a subsidiary version of the old fairs cup.

Oh and BTW Marseille deportivo and villareal were competing for the intertoto Cup that Newcastle won in 2006.

Here we go again. I guess it made sense in your head. However, on this fine bank holiday weekend I’m sure others don’t want to read this, so I’ll leave it here.

As per ... you comment on a post of mine, aim a dig, throw an insult ... then claim to be the victim and to have the well being and harmony of the board as your main objective ... doubt anyone is buying that ... but bye anyway ... enjoy the Bank Holiday.

Oh

I do hope there were no spurs fans laughing at our defeat to Brighton last week.

will have to go back and check the comments
