So, so, Ponky ... Vardy, Evans and Castagne will all be missing for sure but James Justin looked terrific coming back last night and Wesley Fofana might just have recovered from Covid to make his comeback ...

Happy to have a week's avi bet on the win provided the winner choses the avi ... draw void.

<cheers>

Nice one Flos

Just to be clear then:

Arsenal win, I choose your avi for one week
Lesta win, you choose my avi for one week
Draw void

<ok>

Wouldn't surprise me if they won the cup this season.

Yeah I think they'll be alright this season. Essentially, nothing has changed on the pitch. If the sanctions go on until the summer though, then it's going to properly **** them up.

Some who are sympathetic towards the fans forget them waving notes at opposition teams fans when romans money 1st came.

Fuk dem
We were doing that long before Roman came along. It was about the fans having jobs and money. And you lot were/are scrounging ****s. Glad to educate you. <ok>

... but will it? I suspect Chelsea's lawyers are already working on it ... there is a distinction between lining Abramovic's pockets (and I have no idea on how he gets remunerated) and constraints of trade in terms of the football club itself ... I think this will all get tested and if it has been implemented with Boris's usual level of competence it could get very messy ...

If there are sanctions still in place then there's **** all their lawyers will be able to do about any of it. It will be illegal for them to try and influence any leverage as per the rules of sanctions. But I suspect by the summer things might look a lot different.

It's defo a cack handed implementation though, good old Tories, made a right ****in pigs ear of it <laugh>

They could make a legal challenge to the football related aspects I.e. anything that is in the normal football cycle ... ticket sales, transfers in and out because these do not flow directly into Abramovic's pockets ...

He's been quite clever (or rather his lawyers have) - he has effectively (If not yet legally) divested himself of his club assets by pledging sale proceeds of selling the club to Ukraine and effectuvely disposing of the biggest asset (club debt of 15 billion) by waiving his rights to be repaid...

... watch the space ... I'd be amazed if there wasn't some form of legal challenge to the initial sanctions ...

As it stands, Abramovich is sanctioned rather than Chelsea. But obvs as it's his asset the club are effectively sanctioned. I think all the while the war continues those sanctions will apply to Chelsea, until the club and Govt work out a way that they can proceed with a sale and ensure that none of the money filters its way back to Abramovich or Russia.

The Tories talked about trying to engineer a situation where the club's footballing side was protected but Roman was punished, but the cack handed way they've done it will royally **** the Chavs the longer it goes on.

I think it all depends on how long the sanctions are in place personally, I don't think Chelsea's lawyers will be able to do much about that tbh.

Don't think they will be allowed to employ lawyers after March 10th. They are not allowed to enter into any new contracts.
