So if Everton get points deducted it won't be until next season, so they won't be forced the drop this season because of deductions. Makes it even more important for Everton to avoid the drop though because they'll want an immediate bounce to the Premier League if they drop... Starting in the Championship with negative points would harm their chance for an immediate jump back to the the top tier.

Got to say, I was worried about yuse even with FFP - but with Chelsea being able to write off a £2bn loan without any sanction whatsoever.... If Staveley and the Bone-saw Boys have got their heads screwed on, then it's limitless how many billions, if not trillions they can 'loan' you, and simply write it off like a student loan debt.

True. But if they stay up and start next season with a 20-point deduction, and are having to do a firesale of players (remember, Everton were second only to Leicester in the revenue-to-wages stakes last season) they could be putting off the inevitable. Then again, they could accept Chinese money - until they invade Taiwan. :emoticon-0142-happy

Yeah, if they get a major points deduction it might set their fate for relegation... But then they could try to bounce back up the season after that.

Relegated now and then get points deducted next year, they're looking at a minimum of two years in the wilderness. Either way wouldnt be goodfir them.

Given the money they have.

What do you think are reasonable deadlines for the following...

Domestic cup?
Prem champs?
Champions league winners?

You need only look at everton to see how bad a lot of money can go<laugh>

No idea in truth I don't really care about their huge ambition but it's good to know nufc will be having a go.

It feels like it's worthwhile.. I probably would've preferred different owners offering less, but it is what it is I can't stop caring and wanting my club to do well.

I hope other clubs get akeovers. Every fan deserves to hope.. Not just fans of the 6 clubs who've held all the cards for 30 years. More clubs competing improves the league

My boi trent only 4 assists away from cementing himself as the worlds greatest ever rb.<applause>

Imo, Chelsea will try and claim that the new owners paid back the loan as part of the £3b cost so that's all sorted.
