Always thought he was harshly judged cos of his time at Blackburn.Paul Ince
When you consider how many chances Mark Hughes got it and Hoddle etc it does kind of look bad.

I do agree were scum like Terry, arseholes like Rooney and dross like Barton.
I absolutely think that there are black and mixed race ex players that are never given the chance to manage or coach.
Henry, Andy Cole, Regis, Wright, Bright, Les Ferdinand, Anderson, Palmer, Bisset, Walker, Dublin, Heskey, Rio Ferdinand, Ashley Cole, Sinclair, Jenas, Bent, Wright-phillips...
No idea how many if any would have wanted to be a manager but suggests that there isn't an even playing field.
I wonder if the failure of John Barnes at Celtic and Paul Ince at Blackburn is used as an excuse ... maybe unconsciously?
Edit...you're right re Campbell at Macclesfield...he did keep them up ... he reportedly wanted to take them to Italy in the pre season but they didn't have the money to do so so he quit as they weren't fully behind him![]()
This crops up every few years, i would love someone to post up the number of Black ex-players who have tried to become managers and been blanked.
Not talking about someone who wanted a PL team as his first job, just those who could never get on the ladder at all despite trying.

Not a caveat mate, once you are on the ladder if you are any good you will climb.
I love your caveats.

I honestly know **** all about this which is why my first question was how many have been blanked.Nope and that's exactly the point. They won't.
You choose to look at it simplistically so you can convince yourself there isn't a problem. But it's more complexed that that. Some won't get a look in, even in lower leagues. Others that do and have setbacks won't get a second chance whilst their white counterparts will. The opportunities afforded to white ex-players even in the Championship is disproportionate to those of black ex-players. There are currently only 8 black managers in the whole of the English league.
But... if they're good enough they'll climb or something because Diego says so lol

I do know that many many players take their badges and are never heard of again from all hues.
Can't disagree with any of thatAll I know is that ex-player after ex-player after ex-player who is black says the same thing. At some point you have to say, they can't all be wrong or making it up.
Btw I just want to add, the number of black managers aint the most important thing when it comes to equity in terms of racial diversity in the game. There's far worse going on at grass roots level when it comes to other ethnicities. My original point though was that IF there is a different mindset by some boards and owners towards taking on black managers, hopefully someone like Viera demonstrating some really good football and a bit of success might change that.

The only good thing about Hoddle was he inadvertently started the Chelsea revolution to the disgust of the Spudulikes.Ince bombed at several clubs as well as Blackburn though. Think he has the record for the shortest spells at a couple of his former clubs too
But yeah, Hughes is also ****e and he's been given endless chances. Hoddle actually did quite well with England but his bizarre religious comments saw to the end of that. Remember when you lot appointed him and were giving it about the return of the messiah and he turned out to be absolute ****in dog ****![]()
Andrew.Andy Cole is another good example.

ps. What’s happened to Spurly? Not seen him about for yonks.

What's going on at Goodison? Did Rafa get cursed by a Scouse gypsy or something?
