when in reality all that was happening was a discussion regarding how quickly they would become a serious force but don't let that spoil your narrative .
He wont understand mate, his club was the 1st to sell its soul for trophies, as far as the chavs are concerned the more bottomless money pit clubs there are in the prem the less **** they get for being the 1st one.

Lol

Arsenal are a much bigger club than Everton.

A few crap seasons doesn't change that.
Yes it does, you are where you are, you’ve not won the league for nearly 20 years, you’ve gone from being permanent CL fixtures to no European football at all. You’ve been on the slide for years now, merely part of the chasing pack.

And still a bigger club that Everton, despite all of that.

Arsenal have more fans worldwide, I guess, so they have that going for them.
Give it another decade of mid table ****tiness and if Everton pick up a couple of pots in that time, then a case might be able to be made.

Sounds like a good premise for a bet <whistle>

At the end of the day, as **** as we've been recently. Arsenal is still a massive club with a huge pulling power for players.

If Arsenal seriously went after DCL, then it's a step up for him. Because he would be expected to be part of a team that would get Arsenal back to where they should be, which is a top 4 club.

They were actually still a big club in the ‘50’s, but that wasn’t my point.

You’ve been on the slide for years now, Kroenke has just lobbed about £130m at it after the ESL debacle and being under pressure from fans. He ain’t gonna be doing that every year & if you’re to get back to being a CL club then it really needs to come soon, otherwise you’re just one amongst the pack, it is what it is.

I don’t think it’s currently a step up for him at all, your manager is way out of his depth and the better looking ‘project’ is Everton imo.

Yeah we're nowhere where we should be atm. And we don't have the excuse of not spending any money (which has been the case). It's definitely make or break time for these owners.

As for Preston, even in the 50's that's still 70 years ago. They slid away spectacularly since then. Man Utd went 29 years without winning the league and Liverpool went 30 years. That drought still didn't diminish their status as big clubs though.
