Yeah I played on it for effect. Our ground is actually better, though.

Serious question, what will be any potential new owners plans with SJP? It seems like a right ball ache, tbh. The site will always belong to the council, any work will need to be agreed by them but then you will have to renegotiate your rent with them on the back of that. You can't develop half of the ground because of listed buildings around it. You can't sell everything off and use the funds towards a new stadium as you don't own the site. You will also be responsible for clearing the site if you do decide to leave and those costs have risen massively since SJP has been redeveloped. It seems you are pretty ****ed, tbh. Do Barclays Bank still have control of the stadium, academy and training facilities?

I remember the idea was floated that PIF would be willing to build a new stadium and SJP would just go.

Rueben Brothers had that in their "huge plans for the area" thing that was mentioned on Sky Sports.

Everyone with sense knows for the club to ever compete a new stadium would need to be built, the council thing is a disaster.

SAD to see VVD killed last night in another savage attack.
You have to question what Pickford is doing making that challenge.

You must log in or register to see media
Proper hospital pass from the goalkeeper.
Turkey were down to 10 men for most of that game, too. Fosse's mate Soyuncu got an early red.

It's the one thing that will hold you back. I can't think where a new stadium would go like because I can't think of any other sites in the city centre.

They may have to branch out to somewhere like Jesmond or even as far out as Gosforth. The costs are going to be huge and I don't think anybody would want to build a stadium when attendances are falling and the club could be dropping leagues. It's going to take a big hitter to put you on the right track to where you need to be. New stadium, new training facilities, new squad to actually compete properly in the premier league. The costs would be astronomical that's why I genuinely don't believe Newcastle are an attractive proposition. It's going to take somebody to come in and not care about losing a **** load of money just to put you in a place where you can start to move forward with more investment...

It's amazing what can be done with money but I don't think the grounds worth worrying about.

It's still to this day one of the biggest and eventually one day it'll be developed or a new ground will be built (hope not)

I'm well past the ground needing a paint though.

The attraction would be a lot more if the asking price wasnt so high.

Ashley may have spent cash to buy it and paid off debts, but its not for a single second in doubt its been neglected since.

One way or another, that neglect will cost him money

Why do they need a new ground? Yeah it's **** that they don't own it but it's fine for what they need.

They've definitely got some infrastructure issues but I don't think the ground being upgraded is essential tbh.

So what do our Newcastle brethren think of the tennis ball protest in your next home game.
Will it go ahead?
If so will it actually achieve anything ?
