As I said earlier, he got sent off, end of. I'm over the moon with a point tbh, considering the circumstances. I don't think a point harms either of us tbh.
Agreed

Dreadful. Chelsea fans can't help their inclinations, nor career choices.![]()

No idea can’t remember that but I do like stuff like thatWho was Newcastle player a few seasons ago who tried to claim that? Then the ref red-carded him and he seemed to say "Okay, fair cop".![]()
Far be it from me to defend Kopites, but that chant has been around for years and I always thought it was about the fact that players went there for the dosh in the early days of the Roman era. I never saw it as a homophobic thing, albeit I understand the reference. Why the **** do they keep referring to these arseholes as fans

Yeah mate. I don't know where it originated. As you say, its been around for years. No biggie as far as I'm concerned.Far be it from me to defend Kopites, but that chant has been around for years and I always thought it was about the fact that players went there for the dosh in the early days of the Roman era. Is a straight red automatically 3 games? I though that was just for violence related reds tbhOne is too many
Never mind mate. We'll just replace him with one of our amazing squad. One is too many
I agreeSee this is the bit that I would disagree. Yes, James knew what he was doing, but it was always going to hit his arm regardless. Maybe without moving his arm the way he did, the ball would have still gone in, despite hitting his arm. Hence why I said about fate in my original post. It's like West Ham v Leicester, some argue it was not a malicious tackle, but fate created a situation he could not pull out of. From a neutral perspective, it's spoiling the games, simply because we prefer to see eleven men from both teams staying on the pitch. Sometimes a red card is outright deserved, but on quite a few ocassions there has to be a better alternative, while in the process of looking for an alternative, we could be looking for an alternative that makes the game more fun.
Imagine the scenarios i have suggested. First ten minutes of a game, I'd give the red, that would have been given under the old rules. But with 5 mins left on the clock, I'd take the penalty. Also if you decide to send the opposition player off, you've also got to think about who they have to play next, and how the outcome of that game could affect your place in the table. Make it more fun I say, too many games getting spoilt. With VAR we tend to look for reasons not to give a goal, rather than give it. It's crazy, we go to a game because we want to see goals.
No props with the peno, a yeloow card was sufficient as it was unintentional in my view.Is a straight red automatically 3 games? I though that was just for violence related reds tbh
Nah hed deffo raised his arm towards the ball with his thigh and then even flicked his arm out after the contact. No props with the peno, a yeloow card was sufficient as it was unintentional in my view.
Was a penalty because the arm prevented the ball going into the net ... should not have been a red because there was deflection from his leg and (In real time) little chance that he could have got his arm out of the way (and it was not at an unnatural angle ... yellow.
Good game ... both teams will contest the title IMHO (along with Citeh and, potentially United, if the sum of the quality components can be blended into an effective team).[/QUOTE
"Where a player denies the opposing team a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity by a handball offence, the player is sent off wherever the offence occurs."
Really struggling to see how, even if you accept your contention that sweeping your arm across your chest is a 'natural angle', that wasn't a handball offence that denied an obvious goal-scoring opportunity. As you can clearly see, the rule doesn't have get-out-clauses about deflections and unnatural positions. Having said that, as Taylor somehow missed that in real time, despite standing only a few yards away, you're in good company with your lack of knowledge. You should apply to the PGMOL.

Cant lie i was a little surprised when the red came out but looking at it after in slomo he stopped a clear goal with his arm intentionally (in the refs eyes) therefore... Its red.
Anyways i just wanna know how many games he misses?
