Some of it is the psychology of it. Toney for Brentford would be a good example of that today, when he said he wanted to be a Premier League player, and this would be his one chance to achieve that.

Blackpool another example, playing with the mentality of a Championship side.

I saw nothing in the Sunderland side that said to me, they saw themselves as Championship players, they were more beating Lincoln tactically in the first half, but come the second half, they were nowt more than burnt out L1 players.

They need to rebuild. Same as my lot will be doing preseason.

I thought at halftime Lincoln would be better second half and Sunderland were lucky to not lose another 4 goals.

I think Sunderland fan's are in for a few more rough years.. Its a very competitive league.

I enjoyed the game it was entertaining.. Is is always like that?

Probably the toughest league it has been for a while, prior to that, we would be going all the way back to Leeds and Norwich season, albeit Wolves and Sheff Utd have passed through since.

I think the standard has been set this season, and anyone that wants promotion next will need to set their team up to that standard.

I was surprised how badly Lincoln played in the first half, that's what happens if you go at them, probably the worst I've seen Lincoln play. Sunderland did everything right with attack, attack. But it paid it's toll and Lincoln made some changes, and the rest as they say is history.

The lad who nailed the Sunderland coffin today, Tom Hopper, came through our academy ... Nigel Pearson really liked him but he never quite made the first team ... good to see him doing well.

Gutted for Barnsley, they’ve been incredible this season given their budget.
