Sometimes I just don't understand why refs are too scared to use their own commonsense. Not every decision has to be a sending off, he could have just walked over to the guy and had a quiet word, and left it at that. It will be nice when one of these refs break the mould and say fook VAR I'll make my own decision.

None of us seem to think that's a red. Why does he?

I think Coleman was bang right, you can deliberately follow through and knowingly clatter an opponent, but that was nothing but a clearance and the contact was accidental. I don’t reckon they give that if the Stones one from midweek is ignored, they seem to go in phases, trying too hard to be ‘consistent’.

Because they need to grow some balls mate.
I don't think it's that. If he doesn't give that, then I doubt it would be looked back on too much.
Now Moyes is going to have a right dig about it and it'll be analysed after the game, on MOTD and probably on MNF on Sky.
The easier decision is to not send him off, have a word and carry on.

The resident ref on our board says it's a clear red.

can’t ref make the final decision.

He can, but clearly he is influenced by the nob heads in the studio who are urging him to go with their call.

Just **** this **** off and leave it to the on field ref.

Like I said, he needs to grow some balls. They are probably under some directive to follow it to the letter of the law like little Hitlers.

Much like where players have to put their hands behind their back now, which is in itself another load bollocks, you can't play a sport to the best of your ability with your hands behind your back.
