Too many ****e players...Pep wouldn’t do **** with them

Easy pointing fingers at a manager...same manager, same tactics were getting us wins against City, Goons, United earlier on. His tactics have remained constant but the productivity levels of the players obviously haven’t.

but let’s blame the manager because it’s Jose...if that was Poch tonight the majority of Spurs fans would have been offering him a reach around on Twitter to comfort him

You may have other underlying issues but that doesn't mean that Jose is the answer. He just wasn't suited to you at all and gone against what's brought your recent success. Bonkers appointment.

Saints fans were saying similar when Mark Hughes was our manager btw. "Not his fault, the players aren't good enough" or "nobody else could do better" and look how that turned out.

He'll win you the league cup, which you could argue is job done tbh, but he ain't gonna progress you long term and will be gone by this time next year.

Hughes was a total and complete, ****ing bell end though.

Jose is Jose, he does what he does, wins **** with pragmatic togger. They were top of the table 6 weeks back and now they’re in a bad spell, it happens. The hyperbole around a game of such fine margins never changes, makes me laugh tbh.

But you don’t think it’s important to try to build a culture of winning things at a club you’re one of them fans who’s happy so long as you can have a chat about it and make a day of it kinda guy...so we at different starting points

Fans who want to win a trophy aren’t just chasing the league cup...they hope its the start of a good habit. You won your last major trophy in 1973 or sumt...so you’ve done what I’ve seen many Spurs fans do over the years and taught themselves that winning trophies isn’t important it’s about having a good Roy of the rovers day out but actually winning trophies is the end game, not a nice bonus. For me, 12 years without a trophy, 30 years without an FA Cup, 36 years without a euro trophy and 60 years without winning the league is dogshit and embarrassing considering our infrastructure.

Tbf though they've been dross for ****ing ages now, 3 wins in 9/10 games and one of which was Sheffield United. Personally think it's the beginning of the inevitable rather than just a bad spell.

As I said, he'll win the league cup which will be job done in a sense. But he's not gonna progress them long term and he won't leave them in a better place than they were when he took over.

After the trophy drought and all the piss taking I'd be interested to know if the Spurs fans would be happy with league cup and 7th/8th.

In fairness that's what I was alluding to when I said that if he wins the league cup you could argue it's job done.

Just don't think he'll progress you more than that and will leave you an aged squad that needs work. I'd be worried as a spurs fan if he didn't win that final. I think you will though fwiw.

Wouldn't you be better off bringing Dele Alli back into the team than Bale?

Tbh I get the dropping of Dele cos he's been poor from way before the CL final.
But starting Bale instead of Vinicius was a stupid move. At least Vinicius looked threatening once he got on.

Moura is very inconsistent but him starting instead of Bale makes sense.

Haven't watched enough of Vinicius tbh. I just think you need attacking options, bit of pace from someone willing to get behind the defence.

Always rated Moura when he was playing regularly for you. He's another one who seems to be out of favour.

The thing is, it's not like Kane hasn't been out injured before and this is suddenly an unknown for Spurs. You've had Son playing centrally under Poch when he was crocked a couple of seasons ago and you still won plenty of games. As I said earlier, I think that included the CL game vs City iirc.

This is the other thing...our squad needed changing under Poch...he/Levy didn’t change much and Jose inherited the ‘mess’. He might not get enough summer windows to complete an overhaul. It’s a myth that he leaves squads in a mess...one of them media things. Only squad that hasn’t won anything after he has left them was Inter and the dogshit United squad he won two cups with the rest have won their domestic leagues the following year. He won’t leave the Spurs squad any worse or better than when he came imo.

Bale has done literally nothing & tonight was his opportunity to show his worth, and he flopped, he didn’t even try imo.

He really doesn't look arsed in the slightest as you said earlier. Very much strikers me as someone who's achieved everything he's going to achieve and has now lost interest.

Moura is living off his CL semi final heroics

Runs about a lot but lacks serious end product which isn’t good enough if you are one of the 3 attackers behind Kane
