I hate to break it to you, but the Saudi consortium did not have their bid turned down, they pulled it themselves - essentially jumping before they were pushed, as they were afraid they wouldn't pass the Fit & Proper Persons test or whatever the hell they call it these days - and then stomped back home to do whatever Saudi billionaires do with their time

I know you were hoping to create a Narrative about the big, bad FA and/or Premier League blocking the bid, but the reality is that they didn't - but the main takeaway you should take from this is that, seriously, I hope you don't keep trying to use your misremembered version of events as a trump card in arguments, because if you do sooner or later you will be in a situation that unfolds like this...
