It was an appalling and wrong decision ... nothing to do with the rules.

Last season we were refused a stone wall penalty against Newcastle at home and this season Newcastle are gifted a joke of one.

I go to 10-15 league and cup games a season and have done so for years.

Last season VAR started to kill my love of live football and tbh I am glad I can't go cos VAR is ruining football.

Wumming wise it's funny but the truth is that was not handball even by this seasons rules. Yet nothing will happen to the ref and we have lost 2 points because a moron can not see what everyone else can see even with a tv <doh>

If it wasn't given it would've been against the rules bro.. Thats the thing really it was a pen and we scored from it...

It's a **** rule, but it had to be given

The rule is completely ****ed up ... one of the worst I've ever seen introduced in all fairness...

You should really go over their matchday thread and say so mate.

No mate I don't like rubbing things in.... I bet there's plenty crying going on about this rule..

Would it have been fair on Newcastle to not award it given that the rule? No

Nah, he was jumping to try and head the cross, you can’t jump without using your arms for leverage, it went over his head and he’s therefore got his back to the ball, Carroll just heads the ball at his arm.

You can’t give a penalty for that mate, sorry.

That's the rule though whether I agree or not.. There's been several given, so you can't not award it just because it's Newcastle..

The rule is silly, but it's too late to stop giving them

It is but even with that it should not have been a penalty...that's what I do not get.
Was a shocking decision

If the ball hits the hand (hand to elbow) it's now handball irrespective of any intent ... but if a player actively controls the ball from elbow to shoulder it's not, under the "T-shirt" rule ... hence Chris Wood scoring Burnley's opener against us last Sunday ... seems absolutely ****ing daft, but that's how it currently stands ...

Pretty sure that was his first game in charge too. As a player you'd look at him, spend a few seconds trying to work out what he meant and then just carry on doing whatever it was you were doing whilst thinking "what a c*nt".

It was against Saints for us, I believe
