The fact Martin Atkinson chooses to give it shows there is something deeply wrong with the people in charge of refereeing in this country. It's obvious he's following a directive and not making decisions using his experience and judgement.

Just tape players arms up to their sides. Job done.

The game was never intended to be micromanaged in this way. That whole period of play was a shambles and completely ruined the game as a spectacle for me.

I'd be in agreement normally but decided to park my outrage once the retake had been scored...
