Calling him out after one bad game, sums the game up ffs.

If Aguero was playing last night, they’d have likely won, as he doesn’t miss that chance Jesus spooned. Fine margins and all that.

Can't deny his European record at City is poor though. Some of us have been saying this for ages.

Even with Ageuro out if he had not tried to be too clever and played his strongest and normal style they'd have likely won.

I agree they miss Aguero. However he has spent an incredible amount that he can't use a player missing as an excuse. His squad should be good enough.

Its not just 90 mins either, its every season they fail in Europe

There are certainly questions and yes his CL record is ****.

They should have had enough to beat Lyon, and he defo got it wrong last night.

As it goes I don’t think they’d have had anywhere near enough to get past Bayern anyway.

Guardiola has been an utter failure in the CL with City.
With his players and experience it is embarrassing to have never got past the quarter finals.

His style of football is great to watch and to have won 2 league titles, 3 league cups and a FA Cup in 4 seasons is a plaing that style of football is a credit to him.

But, as I have said before, he should be winning those trophies with the money he spends.

£150m spent in 2019-20 and £62m in.
Won the League Cup.

£70m spent in 2019-20 and £48m in.
Won the domestic Treble

£285m spent in 2018-19 and £85m in.
Won the league and the league cup.

£193m spent in 2018-19 and £36m in.
Won nothing.

He has already spent £72m this summer.

Bearing in mind he also inherited world class players such as Aguero, Toure, Kompany and Silva and spent almost 3/4 of a Billion pounds on top of that (in just 4 years) it is an absolute failure not to to have at least got to a CL semi final.

I ain't a fan of Maureen but he always gets called a cheque book manager yet Guardiola doesn't.

His style of football is brilliant but I find it hard to seperate his spending from the success at City (this is not a comment on his time at Bayern or Barcelona).

Pep certainly ****ed up last night ... if he'd started with 2 out of the Silvas, Mahrez and Foden he would have had Lyon chasing shadows ... shouldn't take way from Lyon, they were really good tactically against that Pep line up ...

Ive been calling him a chequebook manager for a while now tbh.

Dont see how anyone can say he's not tbh.

Psg next season for him imo. Where he'll spend astronomical amounts to not win the cl again.

City are just Chelsea on steroids.

No respect for anything they win or achieve.

Every time I have raised it on here I get called bitter <laugh>

To put the spending inro perspective, in the same period

Liverpool have spent £401m and recieved £325m.

Oh don't worry mate me too @Tobes will be along in a sec to tell me Liverpool fans have a cheek moaning about city's spending<laugh>

Teams who play in red get preferential treatment from refs (all around the world) :bandit: <laugh>
Research proves this and it is also true in sports other than football. The best evidence is Taekwando where competitors get assigned blue or red jackets randomly. The red ones win more often. They digitally altered recordings of the bouts to reverse the colours and showed them to Olympic standard refs. The ones altered to red now won more often.

Yeah I've always said this.

If you join the (comfortably) best squad in the league and are given hundreds of millions to spend then winning the league in 2 of 4 seasons should be the minimum imo. Though as you say he deserves credit for the style in which it's been done.

His 3 league titles at Bayern are nothing special either seeing as they could sign their closest challengers best players.

I'm not saying he's **** cos he's clearly a brilliant coach, but he's certainty not the best in the world. I'd have Klopp over him any day of the week.

Buying Ake was sensible but if Laporte or Ake are injured he's in a **** state again.

Otamendi is done and Stones just hasn't cut it. He must be pissed off that Garcia wants out.
