I'm surprised that you watched Leicester win the title by counter-attacking and yet still don't seem to understand it.
Mourinho set up to let you have the ball, just as Ranieri did every week to your opposition.
We drew out your ageing defence, then made rapid breaks in behind.
Rodgers should've adjusted for your defensive absences and realised what the obvious problem was there.

Still, this should be a useful exercise for him in the long run, as long as you managed to retain your top four position this season.
You'll need a deeper squad for the Champions League and your recent run has made that clear to everyone.
Should have a few quid from qualifying, too.
Was definitely like watching a role reversal from the two sides in 2016. I said at the time that possession doesn’t win games and it’s quite sad to see us as we are now imo.
We’ll finish 5th now which is unfortunate after being in the top 4 since September but if you guys finish 6th we’ll still be the only infiltrators into the ‘sky 6’ for what 15 years and twice at that so it’s still good. Won’t have a pot to piss in for transfers without the CL money we thought we were getting though.

We finished 6th four years ago. Both Everton and Newcastle have finished top 6 in the past decade too.

<doh> Had a mare there. I knew you had and Newcastle under Pardew of course. Surprised about Everton, thought the last time they had was about 15 years again under Moyes. Proves the top 6 tag is bollocks though.
I think my timeframe I’m thinking is relating to champions league, think Everton did that about 15 years ago and we are the only ones since but yeah not even close on top 6!

I fully understand it ... but we have changed and are playing a more attractive style of football as a result. It's lovely to see us dominating possession.

The squad depth has been exposed with the injuries of late but we should be stronger next season and with a conveyor belt of excellent younger players coming through.

Will be a decent win for the Toffees if they can hang on here.

They've been ****ing **** recently.

At last. With a midfield 3 we don’t get run ragged, Carlo finally realised two in the middle doesn’t work with who we have.

.. . about winning the title? ...nah mate, I'm over it but rattled isn't really the word I'd have used ... you did a fine job on us yesterday btw ... out "Leicestered" us in fact ... never thought I'd see a Leicester team go to Spurs (or Arsenal) and so dominate possession ... we are changing and improving for the better in quality of football terms, so it's an exciting time to be a Leicester fan ... <cheers>

Dominating possession and lose 3 nil is progress over being dominated possession wise and winning the title?

You were very good til January, decent until locfown and piss poor since.

To lose a CL place after being 12 points clear of 5th place with only 9 games to go is not progress ... it is however, further proof that Rodgers is as restricted as he always was when he needs to adapt.

I'd agree ... the injuries hit us particularly hard ... Ricardo in particular, Vardy before that ... but it's no use crying about it ... you finish where you deserve to finish ... and that is all. <cheers>

You must be somewhat concerned by your form though, no?

You’ve only won 4 of your last 16 league games, stretching back to early Jan.
Taking 17 points from those 16 games. That’s relegation battle level for nearly half a season.

Yes of course, it was quite noticeable from December on ... but that can happen with young teams. A few of Rodgers tactical decisions have been baffling and our confidence is fragile. That said, there have still been flashes of what we are capable of and the young players will only get better next season. If Harvey Barnes can learn to relax when in on goal we could have a very special player on our hands (and take some of the goalscoring burden from Vardy) - big season for him next time around.

Nobody appears to be in any rush to leave and if we do sell we will get top dollar like we did for Maguire or there is no deal - we learned from Kante on that front. The obvious one is Chillwell but with Luke Thomas emerging with great promise, some fans even want him sold ... not me.

Disappointing end given where we were for sure, but footie is all about momentum and consistency - we lost both, for a combination of reasons ... and as I said, you finish where you deserve to finish. <ok>

I’ve seen a fair amount of you lot this season and you’ve been sussed out imo, simple as that.

Rodgers is buried in his ‘philosophy’ and will stick with it irrespective. Maddison staying or not will define next season for Leicester imo, as that lad is a cut above and while he stays Rodgers will get away with it imo.
