its worth adding that TV payments go up by at least 100 million next season , so thats another thing to consider.. I don't know anything about the financial side at Southampton, but it means nufc will be making huge annual profits.

Well the Saudis are paying £350 million for us, so seems about right. What do their books look like ? any debt ? run on a profit ? It depends on alot of things .

Excellent knowledge and adroit questions!

It’s clear that you know your onions, mate. I never doubted it.

@PISKIE owes us both an apology.

Stop it, mate!

You’re embarrassing the doubters, now.

Given financial fairplay it's very important that the club is generating money or any would be buyer would be put off or attracted by that rather than worry about the land.

Fair point.

Saints will be fairly profitable, I suspect. They have a strong academy, too, which must generate a fair few pennies.

whats the potential for more fans ? is it a big city ? dont think so , but is it highly populated?

Southampton is bigger than you think, and it’s growing. Plus, the support is extremely loyal.

The corporate facilities are very good, too.

I've just had 6 iceland minirolls... better than cadbury imo for a fraction of the price...

You bought a tasty alternative and saved yourself some money!

You wouldn’t be the financial guru I know you to be if you’d bought anything other than those Iceland mini rolls, mate.

so why is the ground always half empty? good core fanbase but why is that if its highly populated? doing pretty well

Since Southampton got into the PL their average attendance has been constant at c.30,000, a couple of thousand below capacity. There is nothing to suggest that their matchday going fanbase will grow and in order to increase their worldwide fanbase any new owner would have to spend hundreds of millions on the squad.

As usual you're talking out of your hole.

You should've quit when Archers Road put you straight about the potential real estate value of the land.

Just over 30000 average last season with a capacity (before restrictions I guess) of 32500.
I wonder whether they include season ticket holders in their attendance figures, even if they don't show. United do that. City definitely do that!
