I remember as you do, i just cba pulling up quotes and debating who "won".

Yeah you played well at times and once again we got sucked into the occasion. Klopp mentioned it before the game and seems to understand the emotion of the game, the players (ours) still got caught up in it at times though.

Lascelles is a very good defender but there is so much more to that CB position than just stopping attacks. Our problem with lack of possession for the last two seasons stems from the poor distribution of our defenders. I don't know whether they are being told to hit it long by Bruce but they are all wasteful in that respect. The difference between Lascelles and the really good centre-backs is their composure on the ball and their ability to pick a pass, be it long or short.

I agree he's one ugly fooker, but I love him anyway. The guy was overweight (has lost a bit now) and was prime candidate for a heart attack - so pleased to see some results go his way. Always remember his days at the Gills, the guy he played alongside (Mel Sage) I believe became a taxi driver after retiring from football. I know many a Toon might wish Bruce also grabbed a taxi out the place, there was a time I probably wished he would for his own health. Because expectations of supporters can be brutal on life. I always wish him well.

More decorated perhaps or will be.

But as a player, hes not even on stevies planet.
