I was advocating that we should go for Ancelotti. He's just what we needed, a safe pair of hands and a vastly experienced manager who knows how to win

But true to form, we've gone for the untested and unknown, inexperienced manager. Or so it looks at the moment.

I don’t understand the Arteta appointment (assuming the story is true) as what’s he done in management aside from putting the cones out for Pep?

Exactly

He's done **** all. Everybody says he'll be a good manager, but he really needs to cut his teeth first. Not step into the bear pit that is our managerial position at the moment.

Cosidering there appears to be a decent crowd at Palace, the atmosphere seems fooking shhite.

I wouldn’t argue mate. He’s a bright bloke and maybe he’ll make a quality manager, but Arsenal as your first gig?

Seems completely the wrong time for both parties really, the Arsenal job currently isn't one to be your first experience and you can't afford to drop off too far for too long while a rookie learns on the job.

Said on your board earlier that you'll have to give him time if it happens which I can't see the fans doing.

I said that we needed a safe pair of hands. I would have brought Ancelotti in for 12-18 months to steady the ship and then maybe appoint somebody like Arteta or Nuno.

If it's true, then I hope to be proved wrong, but this has all the hallmarks of setting somebody up to fail.
