Liverpool lost an 8 point lead from feb last year and I can think of a certain side being 12 ahead in the past and i'm sure there's been others over the years .. Liverpool certainly look like they can do it, but only people with short memories would say it's over just yet. Winter months, injuries and fixture congestion will play a part too.
