The good thing about the Mahrez penalty was the look on Pep Gs face as it rocketed across the Mersey leing the carcusses of Liverbirds in its wake.

He is such s self entitled **** with a face more punchable than Henderson.

And no... I ain't bothered about the goons being above us or worrying about losing my avatar bet with @PISKIE

Thought you were nailed on to win that bet. It's early days yet, but we look like we might do a lot better than some people predicted.

i.e. HIAG's prediction that we'd 'bomb this season' and 'finish below Wolves' <ok>

9 wins on the bounce for Arsenal now. Contender for goal of the season from Ramsey. A 1-5 away win in a London derby. All of our players look like they are improving under Emery. Lacazette and Aubameyang scoring for fun.

Bought a new van today and it's my birthday tomorrow.

Happy days <magic>

happy birthday

<cheers>
you thought it was gonna be a rude ending to the message didn't yer?

The man is a genius. He is entitled. He has several titles.

Doing anything with your Mrs and kid?

Yes mate. Just low key, we're off to a local cafe for a bite to eat. Then a nice long beach walk afterwards. Little one is supposed to be in school tomorrow but she's got the sick n squits bug, so we might not even make it out of the door !

All the best fella <ok>

The man is a genius. He is entitled. He has several titles.

He has bought the title ... he spent over £180m in his 1st season to come 3rd. He then spent over another £220m to win the title in his second season.
Thats over £400m while already having Silva, Aguero, Stirling, Kompany and Stones at the club.
He gets his teams to play great football but if ANYOTHER manager spent £180m (while already having Stirling, Kompany, Stones, Silva and Aguero) and did not at least challenge for the title they would have been ridiculed.
Rodgers and AVB were forced to sell their only world class players and then down the money raised and were rightly ridiculed ... he got a free pass and a **** load more money.

I do not think he is a genius...I think he has a great footballing philosophy anx is obviously good at coaching but without that massive spending they would not have achieved a thing.

people used to accuse Chelsea, United, Blackburn and previous city teams of buying the title but even allowing for inflation over £400m spent in just 2 summer transfer windows took financial doping to new highs.

But I already know I am in a minority of one on this so feck the lot of you Pep loving mo fos <grr>

And no ... my man flu is no making me irrational

He’s backed it up though with the title last year at a canter. He needs to deliver a CL though.

Those teams you listed above had resources way beyond the competition. City have a competitor, if United can be considered as such, with just as much of a penchant for blowing cash. Apparently United’s wage bill is far higher. Plus the whole league now is filthy rich.

Rodgers and AVB were ridiculed for being ridiculous.

I completely agree to be fair.
We were doped when Roman arrived, obviously.
He spent around £200m in his first 2 seasons, but we started with a squad that consisted of players like Mikael Forsell, Ed De Goey, Carlton Cole, Jody Morris, Craig Rocastle, Alexei Smertin, an ageing Graeme Le Saux and an ancient Gianfranco Zola.
Pretty much the only Pre-Roman players that stayed at the club when he arrived and had any hand in our success were Terry, Lamps and Gudjohnson.

We were doped, City were given an uber dosage of Mirakuru (DC fans will know what that is :)).

United were able to financially compete with Chelsea and Blackburn and previous City teams so that makes no sense to me.

I repeat...after spending over £180m in one summer window all he achieved was 3rd and nothing was said..not a single word of criticism.

I we mistaken 're his spending by the way ... including the £60m on Mahrez he has spent £539.7m...this means he spent just under £480m to win the title...I also forgot that as well as him already having Kompany, Stones, Stirling, Silva and Aguero he also had De Bruyne.
Seriously ... those 6 players plus he spent another nearly half a billion pounds?

To not see he bought the title is weird to me.

last year they were dumped out of the fa cup buy a fecking league 1 side...no criticism yet spurs were criticised (rightly) for needing a replay to get past league 1 sides.

My point re AVB and Rodgers was that they were (rightly) criticised for spending £100m and not winning anything ... yet in both cases they had to sell their only world class player before hand.
Pep kept all their world class players, spent almost £200m and did nothing yet no one criticised him.

for what it's worth I agree both of them were ridiculous ... and they got what they deserved.

At the moment Maureen is rightly slaughtered for complaining about needing more players after spending app amounts each window yet that was not thrown at Pep when he went and demanded even more signings in his second season.

Like I previously said he is a very good manager and his teams play great football but he ain't a genius...no one in the history of British football has spent just under half a billion in 18 months when they already had a top 4 team stuffed with players ranging from very good to world class.

He sees who he wants and gets them...it's like a kid in a sweet shop.

final point...I have no issue with clubs spending their money how they wish...that's how the rules are but it's a joke to accuse Blackburn, Chelsea, United and previous City teams of doing so but except this city team because it's managed by Pep.

Hopefully when our new ground opens we will have more money, will buy better players, pay higher wages and win a trophy ... I have no issue with clubs spending ... my issue is with the pep is a genius (not aimed at you tbh but the media) as though the half a fecking billion is irrelevant to them breaking all those records.

John Terry's retired from playing football. Lots of rumours linking him with the Villa job.
