I'd ban the TV companies from showing tackles from silly amount of angles and in anything other than normal speed too.

Yep exactly. People will argue it only takes a few seconds....and they're right, for now.
What's next though? Where will it end? I think you've just answered that.
We'll just get loads of 'well there was contact' bollocks. As far as I'm concerned it's a contact sport so that in itself isn't enough reason for a foul.
... splitting hairs ... VAR would have got the right decision for BOTH penalty incidents then ... that has to be for the good of the game ...
Answer me these questions Fosse.
Situation one: how far can the ref go back to see if a goal should stand or not? If a team defending a corner which wasn't a corner break and score will they go back? What if the attacking team score from a corner?
Situation two: if a game is pulled back does anything happening in the meantime get wiped off? So team A should have a penalty. While it's being reviewed player from team B commits a foul that is red card worthy and receives one. When it's pulled back for the pen, is the red rescinded as it wouldn't have happened?
I could go on mate but gotta get ready to go to the old dears. But people thinking it's going to simply solve everything are deluded imo.
I agree but at the same time precious do gooders need to realise that and not scream for a dive every time a player goes down and there’s not enough to warrant a pen. I’ve always said there’s a stage in between where the ref can play on so it works both ways.
I’m in favour of minimal VAR use for absolute key decisions. Not like in rugby where it gets stopped for everything

We’re never all gonna agree. But, for me, I want to see the right decision reached in as many cases as possible.
I accept that some decisions will always be subjective and some refs will see a foul where others don’t. But many, many decisions are very clear cut and can be easily sorted out correctly in seconds.
It would have taken VAR. literally 2-3 seconds to disallow Watford’s second ‘goal’
... and Doucore would rightly have been booked for deliberate handball ....
One - like Rugby ... either the ref prompts the VAR at the start of a move or the VAR promps the ref ... as long as the then decision is displayed ...fair enough ...
Two - again like Rugby ... we go back to the first incident ... but if any player has committed serious foul play that has led to an opponent being injured in the interim, that gets treated like an 'off the ball' incident would ...
Then the argument/controversy would just shift to the previous incident that didn't get given.
So far when VAR has been used it's mainly been rubbish. It was shocking in the confederations cup. Hilarious at times.
It's nowhere near ready imo. Too many ifs and buts.
I want to see VAR used to review goals and penalties only.
I think VAR should be used to quickly review all goals for any infringements. The fourth official should review the goal during the time it takes to regroup and kick off and alert the ref if there is anything he or the linesman hasn't spotted. If there's no infringement, then nobody need do anything differently.
The only other thing I think it should be used for is penalties, again during the time the ball is stopped after a 'foul' the fourth official reviews the passage of play and alerts the ref if needed.
Other than that I don't want to see it being used. I don't want to see endless passages of play being reviews minutes after the event and the game stopped every time somebody doesn't agree with the refs decision.

If it’s crucial, a game changer, review it. But not every little decision.
Hopefully that's how it is used but people will still moan if other decisions get ignored.
Basically the refs can't win either way!
I bet they'll still be the odd massive decision called wrong... It's still human interpretation and human error is natural.
