I agree that it's not a penalty, but what does the ball hitting his chest if his arm wasn't there have to do with it?

Chambers shuts his eyes and makes an odd movement with his arm towards the ball.
The ref can't see that he's got his eyes closed and it's not deliberate, so the player's given him a decision to make.
It's wrong, but I can see why he's made it.

Arsenal's first goal against Palace the other day was very marginally offside, as Sanchez waved his arm at the ball in front of Speroni.
It's another understandable mistake by the officials, but it was ignored.
Video refs would've cancelled out both goals, in my opinion.

We need better officials and we're not going to get them with the current model.
They're treated like utter arseholes on the pitch, then slaughtered by people watching a bunch of replays after the game.
Who'd want that job? Probably not that many competent and reliable people.
Give them more help, clamp down on cheats and use technology in a consistent manner and we'll get better refs.

Because it shows his arm isn’t in an unnatural position

I'm not sure that all this talk of "natural" and "unnatural" positions is very helpful tbh.

"Chambers has got his arm pretty much tucked into his body", says Tony Gale, as the replay shows that it's not at all! <laugh>
It's not deliberate and it's not in an unnatural position, in my opinion, but "tucked into his body"? Nope.

Seeing that again in normal speed, just underlines what a poor decision it was from Dean.

You can still handball it deliberately if the ball's going to hit your body, though. It would be stupid, but people do it.
Handball has to be deliberate for it to be handball in the first place, no way was that a deliberate handball.

All of those pics are great reminders that you've been done again, thanks for sharing <ok>

Now, can you provide the evidence to back up your claim that Arsenal should be involved in a relegation battle on 18 points ?

Are you mad?

Why would I even want to do that?

Everyone can see that I have got you rattled to fcuk, Pix!
<laugh>

I fully intend to keep you dangling on my line for a while, yet, mate!

Yes, the rules on penalties given for handball state that the player needs to have deliberately handballed it and taking into account that decision is the distance between the player and the ball when it is struck at him and the position of his arm and whether it is in a natural or unnatural position.

Sure you have <laugh>

You've made a claim, I've asked you to back it up and now you're posting pictures of fishing nets.

You still bleating on about the penalty, ffs!

Give it a rest, Pix!

Just be thankful for the scores of decisions that have gone your way over the season. You are very much up on the Dodgy Ref deal, trust me, mate!
