Absolutely crazy. Not sure why it kicked off, but Evra has got to know better than to get involved. They are going to throw the book at him for that.

Did the fan deserve the kicking?

Or was it an unprovoked attack?

I'm all for twatty fans getting a kicking if they gob off and are stupid enough to believe that they are going to stand any chance up against these professional athletes.

But not if it was unprovoked, mate.

Not sure why it kicked off. As much as some gobby twats in the crowd deserve a slap, you can't have professional footballers kicking people in the face.
 
Patrice Evra was sent off after appearing to kick a fan in the head before his Marseille side's Europa League game at Vitoria Guimaraes. Footage seems to show the 36-year-old ex-Manchester United defender aiming an acrobatic kick at a fan at the side of the pitch during the warm-up. Substitute Evra was red-carded before kick-off in Portugal, and his side started with 11 players. Uefa's disciplinary body is likely to rule on any further action on Friday.

I'm not saying Evra should get a pat on the back, but if the twatty so-called "fan" was, say, being racially offensive, he deserved what he got coming to him.

FIFA may well throw the book at him, but if I were one of Evra's lawyers, I would use the hearing to openly slate FIFA for its ineffective stance on racism in football.
