It was ridiculous from Day one. I usually do a sweepstake in the office for the world cup, wont be doing one this year. Thats my moral stance for the year.
And almost completely useless if you are fighting anyone with remotely any martial arts training. Thats why you dont see any Kung Fu practitioners in MMA, they'd get ****ing creamed. Its all about stances and transitioning, it takes up too much time and a Judo, kickboxing, Karate or Jiu Jitsu practitioner worth their salt would take your head off
It depends on the style, there are some practical Kung Fu styles that work but still the animal crap is just nonsense. Fought one or two really good Kung Fu people but can't remember what the style was called. The footwork was good and you had to be careful with distance as they'd lock you up if you got in close.
Judo is probably one of the most under-rated martial arts because it looks **** on film, but if you get caught in a judo lock, you're in trouble.
