Remember that surprising me a few years back to find out that all pitches were different sizes. Would have sworn otherwise that it would have been a rule that they all had to be a standard size.
Pitch is slightly small if anything, definitely narrow.
The playing surface is laid on sand or loose dry soil though and is cutting up shockingly.
