I had a bit of a read up as I do have a bit of a thing for civil stadium type projects. I’m not knocking it and I cannot see any real downside to having a hotel close to the ground along with conference facilities, but Fosse is prone to a little bit of exaggeration and it’s not quite as black and white as he would have you believe. On a side note, I’m keeping an eye on your development at the docks and have been following Fulham’s build, which is impressive.
Wouldn't say I’m even writing them off to be honest, they’re a top, top team, I just think you lot are better. More drilled and better depth, the latter is quite mad to say considering City’s depth too but they definitely lack a top striker. Think you lot have the better manager too, Pep’s football is lovely to watch but he’s very one dimensional, Tuchel is far more flexible and I think that’ll serve him and Chelsea well.
I fancy going over and taking a look at the Fulham ground once it's finished, saw some promo video on it, was well impressive. Can't say I'm overly struck on the Leicester build at the mo, but I've only seen pics, and I just don't get a good feel about it. It's probably brilliant as a fan, but as a neutral I'm like, hmmm.
There’s a guy who does drone flights over both yours and pool’s developments which he posts on YouTube. They’re normally worth a watch.
My interest in builds like Leicester’s and Liverpool’s are how they integrate it into what’s already there. Some clever engineering involved. From the pictures I’ve seen of Leicester’s redevelopment, it looks a bit plastic tbh, but if the training ground is anything to go by, I do expect a high class finish.
The Liverpool one looks ridiculous when you’re stood close to it. The huge stapler stand is so out of proportion it looks daft imo. Must be one of the only stands built in recent years that came complete with obstructed view seats.
Was hoping to get a weekend in Liverpool before the end of the year. I need to convince my misses that we at least need to see both developments whilst we’re there!
I’ve never understood why the slightly curved main stands that Wolves have had for ever, have not been adopted by others. Always guaranteed a good view from where ever you sit.
The Goodison legacy plans are boss imo, so pleased they’re doing something like that as opposed to just selling the land to a developer or a supermarket.
Better second half but still pretty abject - Chelsea were excellent ... and gonna give a shout out to Thiago Silva's display ... immaculate and imperious... Now gonna walk the dog and then watch an afternoon of Rugby
