I had a neighbour like her. Her name was Shiela, 85 and a little senile, but a lovely old dear who meant well but came out with stuff that made me and the kids laugh. She'd invite me in sometimes, but she'd kept forgetting that she'd told me how here husband had passed away on a cruise ship so I had to listen to the story every time. And because I didn't want to seem like a **** I'd listen.
Yeh we know, my mrs loves her like, she says she reminds her of her racist Irish nan (her mums mum) who hated her rasta dad
Yeah you got to man, those old peeps sometimes have no one else, a 5 minute chat or even just a hello can go a long way, im like that with down and outs too, more so even cos i know what being homeless is like. Its hard down here to open up and be nice though mate cos most are ****s and just want summin out of ya. My mrs is the same, she asked me for a big bag the other morning so i give it to her and shes got a load of winter clothes for a young woman who sells big issues outside her shop. On the other hand thers a bunch of winos who stalk the bus stop outside our local shop who dont evem ask us anymore cos we told them to piss the **** off a few times. We try but we aint dickheads nahmean
Mate spot on They don't have anyone and who wants to live in a society where you don't have time for the elderly. I'm the same. I was the same with her too which is why I'd go in and listen to her because she'd talk more than me, fix the minor things if they broke. Tbf there were a few of us who knew she was vulnerable and looked out for her. The sad thing is, about 10 months after I left I went back with the kids and knocked on her door, and she couldn't remember who I was. That may sound funny but it was a sad. She recognised me but couldn't place me. We sat and spoke for a while... she told me about her hubby and the cruise ship ( nah jokes she didn't) but she spoke about her grandkid and that but I felt like I'd lost someone, unexpected grief like feeling tbh.
Where have they been? Doctor who has been unwatchable for at least 8 years, and thats if you previously liked Doctor Who. If you didnt, then its been unwatchable for decades. How long before they infest Star Trek? You ****ing knob, Star Trek fell years ago.
