So 2 players makes the team decent?

Jorginho is so so and a different kind of player (tbf i would take Rice or Hendo over him). Verrati barely plays footie at PSG nowadays. Our winger and Forwards are better than anything italy have to offer and the less said about italys fullbacks the better.

I would say only their two cbs and goalie are clearly better. When you start adding in the rest of the squad who you would probably don't know and couldnt name then i think its fair to say England have a stronger squad (note i didn't say team, i'd give england the edge but they are pretty evenly matched at first 11)
 
to be fair, portugals first penalty shouldn't have been either imo. He got the ball as a save imo even though he then smashes danilos face

In fairness I probably should have said team rather than squad. If you read on you'd have seen my logic that I think having a brilliant defence/midfield and average attack will serve you better at these tournaments than a vice versa which is why I rate Italy higher.

Don't recall a team winning a major tournament without either a top class CB or CM since Greece.

I can't get over that France penalty. I want them to win but how has that not been overturned? Absolutely pathetic.

The ref should be introduced to the business end of a shotgun while the VAR should be given some morphine and lobbed in the Danube.

Tbf, at 36 and 34, i'm not sure i would class Chiellini and Bonnuci as top class anymore. Still a better pairing than both and one of the better centre back pairings, but they aren't what they were in their heyday. Better than our back 2 for sure.

Again that Italy midfield is as good as ours. I don't see why you think those two midgets are running the show (verrati maybe, he's actually been class but he's had a lot of injuries and plays half the games for PSG nowadays). Jorginho is a slightly upgraded version of joe allen, someone to be part of a cog than better than anyone.

It's an international competition though, anyone can win it after what Greece did and Portugal did last euros (can't believe you even put Portugal up there). They don't have any top class CMs or CBs (don't say pepe, he's old and past it although international pepe has always been a beast)

I still think Pepe is better than any of our CB's. I really rate Moutinho too.
 
Got to feel for Digne there. Gets on the pitch, immediately looks better than Hernandez had in the same role and 5 minutes later has to go off injured.
