Not a case of going into hiding, just being rather pissed off (to put it mildly) with my football team. Not the first time and pretty sure it won't be the last. No point dwelling so poured myself a stiff one and watched some telly with the family to take my mind of the useless pillocks.
Your boys were excellent and the fact that we put in our worst performance of the season shouldn't deflect from that in any way.
Individual errors cost us defensively ... but I was more pissed off with the lack of intensity throughout the team right from the start and especially from James Maddison who made Shelvey look sprightly.
Also didn't understand Brenda's reaction to Jonny Evans late withdrawal. He had planned to play with a 5 at the back and he had another centre back on the bench yet chose to alter formation instead. He could have had Wilf Ndidi slot in for Evans and play Mendy in the defensive mid role ... which worked really well at the start of the season when Evans was banned. As it was we looked completely unbalanced and Soyuncu had an absolute mare and was already wobbly before the error that gifted the opener.
Anyway, Brenda needs to do something defensively now coz Evans looks like he will be out for a while and we can't play like that in our remaining fixtures or in the Cup final.
We'll bounce back.
