However, it does give a limited number of Countries the chance to get through to the Euros, if they are not already through, bit like the Champions League does with the runners up and losers of the Prem League. So as England and Scotland are already through, it's a pointless losers trophy. Although it might affect your world ranking.

Can remember vaguely how it works.

Highest League takes precedence...

So Portugal won the League A final but had already qualified for Euros so that's League A out...then it's onto League B and so on. Ended up with the Jocks getting a spot due to all the decent teams already being in and then they won a couple of play offs to qualify for the finals.

Something similar for World Cup qualification but not as many spots available.

It's a good concept and it will be better when the media stop referring to it as glorified friendlies.

It is glorified friendlies though. It’s the Zenith Data Systems Cup. Now we have to play Iceland in a dead rubber and probably get mink Covid and almost certainly all die.

See that Henderson was taken off at half time as a precautionary move. Wanted to make sure he didn’t have an impact in t he second half.
So good for club, may as well not bother for England.
No special inhalers is the rumour.

If the manager with no tactical nous could open his eyes for once he'd explore the option of playing him as one of the back three... a sort of Macherano at Barca type scenario.

why doesn’t he play that role for Liverpool in times of need. ? He isn’t a bad footballer, just doesn’t seem to work for him at International level. System, mindset...who knows.

Would definitely keep him as far away from the attacking third as possible as he just doesn't seem to have a clue.

Just too many robotic defensive midfielders in the game at the moment if I'm being honest, but for some reason they seem to be in vogue.

watched 15 mins of 2nd half. Hope Grealish gets more game time.
