Looked a decent player to be fair but will need to learn to mix up his play as fell into the too predictable trap last night. You would have to say the buck stops with Arteta as he watched on haplessly as the tide turned against his side.
They literally won the league playing like that though. Sitting deep and hitting sides on the counter with the pace and finishing of Vardy. They did the classic smash and grab on Arsenal yesterday, and the reason Arsenal didn’t win is that they didn’t create enough and get the vital first goal.
I would say that it’s more exciting to watch than tippy tippy bullshit sideways and backwards. End of the day it’s about winning games, au loved our performance away at Man City pressing them high and playing through their press. We created a lot of chances despite less possession. Last night I think as @Jammy 07 says was a means to an end to get back on track after two home defeats (defeats that happened on account of the tippy tappy ****).
Understandably you probably don't want to talk about it but... Even though I only watched the 2nd half on Saturday what I saw was worrying. Thought you looked leggy and lacked any drive or determination to get back into it. Hardly any movement off the ball with too many players static and predictable passing. After the red card you just seemed to throw the towel in. Ok Rodriguez picked up a knock and you'd made all the subs so it was extremely difficult circumstances...maybe I'm being harsh but didn't see enough of a reaction before the red card to make excuses for what happened after it. Hopefully just a blip but a reaction to that defeat is now required
We were bad, but Southampton were also very good. We have a good first 11, but no real game changers from the bench. The be good goal from JWP and one deflection that prob put game beyond us, we packed up when second went I’m mentally. All credit to SHampton, always a tricky game.
If Sigurdson’s shot that hit the bar had gone in at 0-0, who knows? It might have been a different game. Two well taken goals for us though, and after that we were flying. Couldn’t have asked for a better first half tbh.
fine margins, SHampton took the chances, we could have played for a week and still Iwobi wouldn’t have got a first time cross in.
I thought Iwobi looked pretty good at Arsenal the couple of times I saw him (a mate has seats in hospitality through his employer so I occasionally got invited as a guest). Whenever I mentioned this to Arsenal fans though, they always laughed. I guess the jury’s still out then?
It was Sunday....and we were ****, and I’ve not been around to talk about it. Without Richarlisons drive and being a constant outlet for Rodriguez to hit, we had no width. As Iwobi is utter dogshit, hence why he was hooked at HT. Godfrey isn’t a full back and proved it, as he offered literally nothing going forwards, so we had nothing down the right flank either. We improved 2nd half and looked capable of getting back in the game before the sending off, but that killed any chance of that. I thought we’d fall down there, and so it proved. One game though and we move on, but with another suspension.
The jury has been in for ages, he’s absolutely ****ing mince, and an awful piece of business last year. We were in for Zaha and ended up with that donkey ffs. I’ve always thought he was ****e, but was prepared to give him the benefit, but he’s done nothing to change my view on him. He’s clumsy, half arsed and imo plain thick.
