Played on the toon board. You had a time deadline to work out various scenarios, basically trying not to get sussed by the other team, what your task was. Then there was some sort of vote off, and it would have to be completed say by 11pm. The most voted for loses and is killed off out the game. So you had to keep your team strong with bullshhite, and only you knew what team you was in, so it was like good guys, bad guys, sheriffs.

Everyone would constantly switch votes to cause confusion, but by 11pm on the dot, your vote had to be in the right place, otherwise you'd fooked up.

So it’s a game played somewhere on Not606?

Tasks? Like build a campfire?

Typically it would be like 15 people, and 4 or 5 of them would get secret emails saying they are a member of the mafia, and some of the townies would get secret roles too, like a Private investigator or a sheriff.

The mafia members would get their own private chat room so they can communicate with each other.
Every night every player had to nominate someone to lynch, and the person who got the most nominations was then murdered, and only then did their role get revealed.
The job of the mafia members is to sow discord amongst townies and make them turn on and suspect each other, whilst the townies job obviously was to sniff out mafia members to hang.

You also got other things like one of the mafia could be a hitman, and he would chose someone to try assassinate, but there would be counters, like the PI could choose someone to survey and if he surveyed the hitman or the victim, he would see what happened and could identify the hitman to the rest of the townies, or the sheriff could choose someone to lock up for the night, which meant they wouldnt be able to use their action for the night etc.

The early days, it was the funniest time on this forum. Chaos was pretty good with the game rules and how it was played. I wouldn't have had the patience, I was just like, tell me what team I'm in and I'll deal with it from there.

I think the Mafia would be good fun on here, as long has it was the early days style of game play. You need a good gamesmaster though...ie Chaos, about one thing he is useful for through his craziness. But people would need to be able to access the site each evening up to about 11ish, so not much use for guys like Comm to play.

Best part with the games was it might throw people together that don't normally get on, but if you wanted to play you had too.......or be like me and cause fookery. But then you risk getting voted off really quick, even by your own team, so you had to be subtle - I don't do subtle very well :(

Played on our board a good few times before MITO did one <laugh>

I loved the mafia games, but they became too swollen and pretentious with all these ridiculous new roles and rules. Too hard to keep track of.
If they were dumbed down slightly I could get back in to them.
Its just that I mostly played them whilst at work, and I didnt have time to trawl through all the ****

that was the entire point and if you'd read the rules you would have done well..

I read them, but the game became too intricate and too involved, and it was hard remembering **** all the time, who could do what.
It just became too complicated for me being high as **** on opioids and having only half an eye on the game because of my job.

It's good when you win it though.

yeah im sure and we came close … semi vs sporting who went on to win !!! we won 2 nil at home and then went 1 up in Lisbon and went in at HT .. Sporting needed to score 4 to go through in 45 mins...… they scored 5 .. I've seen numerous semis, finals and 2 or 3 titles slip away prior, so I just laughed because I knew we wouldn't get a better chance and since then we've done **** all cos 12 months later MA came along.
