I think it's because their two wins have come away at Spurs and home to Man Utd. Now Chelsea another big club in transition up next. It might just be one of them seasons for them.Really?

They’re a dreadful side. Caught Spurs on about as off a day as they’ll have, as Brighton did and United are just a bit of a joke right now. If they stay up it’s a sad statement about the ‘best league in the world’.
actually it's based on the fact we are a counter attacking side and finally have our best players on the pitch which has been overlooked. I'm also aware Chelsea have up to 6 players out and that would make a difference to any side at any level. Chelsea are obviously favourited , but I can see us causing problems and creating chances.
For counter-attacking read “stick ten men behind the ball and hope for the best”.
incorrect ! we create chances and are effective with the ball. Possession means **** all if you are not effective and as I've indicated we have only just last game had are best players on the pitch , so it's been difficult for us to counter at all. We are not as bad as our fans or other fans think and the reality is we finished 10th and 13 the in our last 2 seasons, so were not the relegation fodder we are always labelled these days . from jan until may last season we scored more points than any side outside the top 6 and this season we will comfortably avoid relegation.
You have the second lowest expected goals in the league I believe (narrowly ahead of United).
Second fewest goals scored, second fewest shots on target, second fewest crosses, joint lowest number of through balls etc. You’re probably no better or worse than half a dozen teams but I can’t share your optimism you’ll be comfortable.

Stats have flaws but they certainly aren’t pointless after eight games. I’ll have a look again end of November as you’ve arbitrarily decided and I’m sure you’ll be comfortably mid-table.
