As you say its nailed on, absolute madness that the var looked at that and saw no foul.

It's actually suspicious as its such an obvious penalty?

There is obviously a policy of not undermining the on field referee.
It's a joke that the ref does not look at the VAR replays like they do in European games.

Villa were denied a clear penalty for handball and were denied a goal in farcical circumstances...those decisions could cost them their premier league place come May.
Both were clear and obvious mistakes and VAR did nothing to correct them.

Surely the rules on var should be unilateral for all league and comps using it? Otherwise its just gonna cause confusion for player and fans alike.

Equally I don't want it going the European games route and world stage where the ref is basically useless and started reviewing everything. That ruins the game.

The guys in the technical studio analysing the footage need to be stronger and the refs need to be willing to accept their decision.

Currently we are using VAR as an offside tool and thats it. Is that a problem though? I don't mind if VAR is kept to a minimum.

Not sure I get your point...

If you mean that that all leagues and comps should be allowed to have different rules to how VAR is used then I think that is what is causing the mess we are seeing.

I have no idea what the point of VAR is this season.

Apparently the lines used for offsides are guestimates.
Yesterday their was a VAR check yet no one knew why ... there was no explanation, just a pointless delay.
Would have pissed me off if I was a Southampton fan cos it took the sting out of them pressuring us and gsve us a breather.

But I am anti VAR and have been since I saw it in action in a fa cup match v Rochdale so maybe I am just too biased to give it credit.

I was saying that it should be used the same way in Europe and domestically for all leagues who use it or its bound to cause confusion.

Why has Super Sunday been sacked off today then?

Leicester vs Newcastle :emoticon-0113-sleep:emoticon-0113-sleep
Champions League games midweek, so nobody in it should be playing on Sunday.
Probably would've been better for Utd and Arsenal to play today, though.
