It's not always really big decisions though. If you think it's a price worth paying then fair enough but I think people should man up and accept that refs are human.
I don’t agree. I’ve been to more matches that have been absolutely ruined by obvious refereeing howlers than I care to remember. The sense of injustice and having your afternoon blighted by some dickhead with a whistle creates much fume. Anything that removes obvious **** ups by officials has to be an improvement, the issue now is ensuring that we get the balance right and don’t over egg the custard when it comes to using this enhancement.
An automatic car with parking assist will improve the driving and parking of a **** driver ... that's what technology does ... same applies to just about anything
So it doesn't get everything correct then, and I demonstrated it by referencing the world cup where plenty of decisions were wrong They were supposedly the best refs in the world btw, of which none were ours.
This is the problem though, refs will slowly rely on it more and more and will basically be scared to ever make a decision. It will go too far.
^^^^ This - 100% ^^^^ Been watching footie for over 50 years and have seen some absolute officiating howlers - some of which have even caused crowd 'disturbances' - VAR can be the "straw man" and help diffuse situations
... more than humans will / could ... so the World Cup could have been even worse from an officiating point of view without VAR
I'm glad we have VAR. You were all right, it solves everything. It's nice to be discussing the football instead of the officials for once. Oh.
.... OK Miss Pikkynix "Contest" "Dispute" "Query" ... ... yes they review every goal but where there are no potential grounds for disallowing the goal, it is no different to how it has always been
Except it is You don't have 22 players standing around looking at each other scratching their bollocks waiting for the review to be finished without it.
Each to their own ... I'm happy for my team to lose in most circumstances but am with Tobes in that I ****ing hate the feeling of being cheated and that "they" have got away with it ... so delays in play to get the correct outcome 'most of the time' are fine by me
