VAR got the disallowing of the Derby goal completely correct AS THE RULES CURRENTLY STAND - so Libby is wrong - it is the rule that it at fault
Agreed - but one that will undeniably improve the percentage of correct decisions under the rules has to be a positive
Why not just make the referee an agent of the guy overseeing the game from a shed in Hounslow or wherever he is?
At what cost though? Slowing the game down, killing the atmosphere/emotion and still doesn't kill controversy. Nah you're right it's a belter
I guess this is where I differ from most. I don't mind seeing a few mistakes as long as it keeps the flow of the game going.
The thing that annoys me about VAR is that sooner or later, being good at charades will get you into a PL side. please log in to view this image
****ing annoys me already seeing players drawing a TV screen. If they are going to introduce VAR then they should introduce a rule giving a yellow card for any **** who does that.
Nope ... neither was I during previous ones when Lampard's shot was a foot over the line or when Maradona cheated ... VAR would have put both of them right ... ... as I said ... it will take time to bed in ... but in a couple of years time it will just be a normal part of the game ...
The only people who will need to turn up for a game are the players and the guy implementing the decisions as directed by the VAR officials.
Should make a rule that only the captain can ask the ref for VAR (bit like in Rugby) ... I would also like to see a mandatory yellow card for any **** waving an imaginary yellow card
But it doesn't get everything correct as I've amply demonstrated. So why take all the bad that comes with it for the sake of getting 'some' decisions right? A normal part of a game that's been ruined for the sake if tourists
But will the ref do it? The ref already has the power to book players who surround him but doesn't, which is what makes the 'but there are already delays' claims nonsenical. Focus on improving official standards and the standard of decision making will improve, give **** officials technology and they'll still make poor decisions because guess what? They're **** officials.
... but that's a misconception - for really controversial incidents the delays will be just as long whilst the handbags are removed and the make-up is reapplied ... ... perhaps you have never really felt cheated whilst watching Arsenal? ... I've got 2 that come to mind ... David Speedie winning the penalty that enabled Blackburn to beat us in the play-off final at Wembley and Erlund Johnson for Chesea that put us out 0f the FA Cup a (another penalty)
Define "amply" - it gets more correct than it gets wrong - and makes less mistakes than humans - therefore overall improves the percentage of correct decisions - no argument ...
