What made me happy about last night aside from nicking a win, was how comfortably easy Lindelof is on and off the ball now, the lad was written off by practically everybody including United fans and he’s done a De Gea, sucked it up and started to look the part.

Ideally that’s him set now and he will continue to improve. We need to avoid shelling out huge sums for two new centre halves.

He's improving but he's hardly the epitome of calm and composed while in possession! Lot of improvement still to do but he does seem to get better with more or less every game.

We do need one centre half to go alongside him though, definitely. The likes of Jones and Rojo and Smalling just aren't good enough for what we need to be.

Since Fergie retired the spending of the Manchester clubs has been....

United 662,230,000 (467,180,000)
City 843,600,000 (597,650,000)

Since Mourinho and Pep came to town

Mourinho 345,430,000 (268,130,000)
Pep 500,800,000 (374,150,000)

So whilst United have underachieved (possibly not last season when they finished second), it's completely wrong to say that United have outspent City or that Mourinho has outspent Pep.
