Now that the dust has settled, I think the Goons can look back at this season with a lot of satisfaction - got the best defence of any squad in the Prem, by some distance - possibly the best in Europe (thought Mosquera and Hincape were outstanding last night with Saliba and Gabriel close behind)

They need a couple of quality additions - Gyokeres is decent, but not top drawer and Havertz is too powder puff... and they could do with a top quality creative midfielder something close to the two PSG lads...

Finally the manager needs a mind reset - they were way too cautious last night against a PSG team that looked defensively vulnerable evey time Arsenal actually did attack ...

Bad news for Spurs fans is that the Goons will certainly be right up there competing for trophies on all fronts next season too...

These kids will never have the character-building experience of being taken to Port Vale pre-modern mobile phones, losing 2-0 to think you’re going down then hearing Bury have lost on the tannoy to keep staying up in your hands. They’ll be poorer for it.
There use to be a TV rental shop that was only a very minor diversion from the station after the home game, everyone use to gather outside there waiting for the scores before catching their train. <laugh>

That was in the days when matches finished on 90 mins.

Hearing James Alexander Gordon in the car from another dire home draw against some nonsense northern team is one of my earliest memories.

<laugh> you've reminded me of something similar... being dragged shopping and searching out a TV / Electrical shop around twenty to five to catch the scores ...

With the possible exception of being at a final in the ground, grown men in replica shirts and especially with a player’s name on the back will always look ridiculous.

Absolute Sports Direct FC. Club have probably earned enough to replace Gyokeres this week on shirt sales in Dorset.

Typical modern family in Manchester yesterday, dad Liverpool top, 15 yr old daughter Citeh, 9 yr old son Chelsea, mom looking like she's had a night working at the docks

Half the population of Africa is wearing Arsenal shirts today.

Tbf the average African male is more likely to have the physique for it than his British counterpart

Saw a bloke in B-town yesterday in a SoccerAid UNICEF shirt and should have reported him to the police

More likely to stick that on for ten minutes than the birds. Last day of the Spanish second division season and my team need a win to get playoffs. Some genius has the playoffs ending ten days into the World Cup.
