we won 4 of them when it was proper competition then

In Celtic’s day half the players wouldn’t be allowed to get the boat to Scotland or would die en route of scurvy.

Still a hell of an achievement what they did. People knock it for the teams they beat along the way not being huge names now but they were then. The knockout format gave lesser teams more of a chance whereas now you have to be absolute dog **** to not qualify from the weird megagroup. Spurs finished sixth or wherever they ended up smashing a few factory teams and some Icelandic fishermen.

It would be unthinkable for any of them to go through the ignominy of competing in the second round of the League Cup so we have to force a few clubs to do an extra round of that. Can’t have FA cup replays because they’d clash with Match Week six of 27 in the group stage. Can’t be having them play at 3pm on Saturday when their reserves beat Estonia’s cup winners on Thursday.

Very much remember the 68 final and United becoming the first English club to win it, a year after Celtic had done it ... proper back then - only actual 'Champions' allowed - none of this asterisk bullshit ...

I should also add, I've received numerous complaints about people not getting on the site via mobiles and while we think that maybe Cloudflare sensitivity, it's not completely from our minds that we could also have been put into a category for adults due to content, I was starting to wonder if restrictions are getting put on us. Not saying they are but we need to be careful, you know what the thought police are like these days and I wouldn't want anyone to get in trouble, so be careful what you post - just because it's ok on Twitter, don't mean that crap has to be posted here.
