It’s really changed in the last ten or so years. Much like most away grounds pre-match if you aren’t travelling by train and funnelled away from the opposition fans quickly. Was very spicy when I went in 2011 and noticeably less so every time since. Away from home they aren’t nearly as bad either. They’ll all be out for West Ham if that happens next season.
Yeah. One year South Bermondsey was closed for some reason so got the tube into somewhere and had a long walk. Was very normal vibes.Probably one of the safest grounds in the country now if you go by train due to the walkway.

I often wonder how sublime some of these players ball control would be nowadays if they were doing it on that pile of **** back then
Players we still talk about as being some of the best to have played the game
You used to have to run the gauntlet with Plod down a narrow open passageway with high walls both sides to actually reach the ground - and watch out for lumps of concrete being lobbed over.I went to the old Den a few times around 1986-1989. It was a horrible **** hole, both the ground and the surrounding area. I grew up in Lewisham so had a few mates who were Millwall fans. If Arsenal were playing away, I'd often go and watch Millwall, Charlton, West Ham, Crystal Palace instead.
Never went to the Old Den as an away fan and never would have. I remember Millwall coming to Highbury in 85 I think it was, in a 3rd round FA cup tie and it kicked off big time in the away end. Horrible fans.

Glenn Hoddle, Ozzie Ardiles, Liam Brady, Trevor Brooking, David Rocastle.
These were artists of the game and all played on potato patch fields.
Remember watching Rocastle play at Southampton on a badly cut up pitch and just gliding across it, scoring a beauty that day.
Makes you wonder what these players could have done on the modern carpet like pitches.
Theyd all be exhausted by 30 minsGlenn Hoddle, Ozzie Ardiles, Liam Brady, Trevor Brooking, David Rocastle.

There’s no point following any of it until the last five minutes of the final game. Villa are guaranteed top 8, Forest are in the playoffs barring a miracle, Hamas need a win probably to get playoffs, Rangers out.anyway….
Not been following Europa
