I think what was happening was a foul, the rules where the foul was committed dictates a penalty. Where it's gone wrong and where people are getting upset is because var is stepping in. I think Chief said the ref should be spotting it, and he's right, and that is the problem, var is killing commonsense and refs are becoming complacent. And for me that's not a good look at this sporting level, when the ref has to be seen going over to a monitor, squinting at a screen in an attempt to understand or witness the problem, it's just complete nonsense. It's just all ****ed up from so many angles and if anything has created even more cheating. It's certainly not stopping cheating, because players will keep looking for ways of deceiving the cameras or playing to the camera with so many penalties...not suggesting the Man Utd player was cheating by the way, because he wasn't.

Are we going to stop the game retrospectively because there has been a foul anywhere on the pitch? Or is it just set pieces?

Who gets to decide what incidents to look at?

One was looked at - resulting in United's penalty.
One was not - United goal.

Its farking nonsense.

It is nonsense but fans keep paying to watch it, so the Prem League don't care because it don't hurt their pocket, it's a captive market meaning they can do what they want.

Something I did notice today is that Sky had Carragher on the Everton game and he just couldn’t manage to congratulate the winning side.

Today was a weird one, spent time with the family and wasn’t even that fussed about watching the game, I was making lunch for the kids while it was on.

Does that mean he won't be on tomorrow night?

if anything I'd say the controversy of var probably makes them more money, because fans will watch the Chelsea and Man Utd, to say how the opposition was robbed, so in fact it's playing on the rivalry....much the same way Farage does in politics. If fans actually turned it off instead, companies like SKY would see their advertising audiences go down and look to investigate why the fans are turning away in their droves...but they won't turn away because we are mugs that like being mugged.
