Luke O'Nien was one of our boys who couldn't break into our team in the Prem so moved on He has made it now with you, hope you have a better season than some of the recent promotions
The Sunderland fans were loud today. Stayed in the game and turned it around second half. but were loads on the tube heading away as they were getting the trophy? Must have boiled some Barcode piss on here. Mrs was quiet the whole trip back, was bliss.
09 is a fully fledged club legend now. He’s up there with Kevin Ball, Niall Quinn etc. We’ll need to bring in 6-7 good quality players to give us a chance. I think we’ll spend a bit and our scouting network seems to be top class. It hasn’t failed us so far. We’ve shown you can go do it without parachute payments and paying big wages. That should give hope to the rest of the division.
The mags aren’t bothered one bit, they’re just delighted they’ve got a guaranteed 6 easy points, next season. It’s all they’re talking about.
Joking apart for a second - won't be Spurs or United as they'll both strengthen... but it is the way that all the promoted teams will need to look at it - I think it is now tougher than ever for newly promoted sides to stay up - and for me, two at least will go back down ... Always thought the we'd finish above Saints and Ipswich and that might be what transpires after tomorrow's final games - but there was a point when I started to consider who might be weak enough for one of us to finish in front of - early on Palace (then look how they turned their early season malaise around) then possibly Wolves or Everton - but they both had much better squad depth ... and that will be the problem next season ... Right now I'd say Everton will be the team for the newly promoted to target - because they'll be playing in a ground much less familiar as 'home' plus I think they'll be hampered by PSR constraints ... But for now - just enjoy the glow and the summer!
Yeah not even going to worry about any of that yet, if at all. It’s pointless making predictions at this stage, we have no idea how the transfer window will go. I can’t see Everton struggling in the league with Moyes as manager. He’s turned that club around again. If Bournemouth lose another 1 or 2 important players and their manager, they could be a surprise team to struggle.
Only good thing about seasons like that is it really shows who's a proper fan and not just watching when things go well. Those remaining are the hardcore and if anything the bond with the club gets stronger.
Everton have a squad that will be overhauled in the summer. But don’t kid yourself that PSR will be an issue. Even with the dross we have now Moyes showed what coaching players properly can do.
You obviously know way more about your squad than I do ... and I agree about Moyes ... but PSR is an issue for all but the biggest clubs - our position wasn't completely forlorn in January ... but we spent just £3 million to 'strengthen'... because of PSR... It also forced us to sell Dewsbury-Hall last season before we could buy anyone... we sorely missed his box-to-box energy and goal threat...
