Even if he's below par he'll provably be our best player. He's the only elite player in the whole squad. That's how bad English football has become. One of the reasons why selling Wembley isn't a bad idea...as long as the money goes into building from the bottom and making facilities etc. better.

It’s the pressure to deliver in the prem, luv. Clubs and their managers are under enormous pressure to deliver results - now! So, they buy and buy ever more expensive foreigners in a frantic game of one upmanship with their rivals. In a nutshell, it’s about money. Success sells, failure doesn’t.
The Wembley deal that's been suggested seems ridiculously dodgy, to me. I've more confidence that the money will end up in someone's back pocket than the grass roots of the game. If the FA want to help the game in this country from the bottom up, then they need to reverse their decision on youth contracts. It's no longer viable for the non-massive clubs to maintain a worthwhile youth system.
