He doesn't get the credit he deserves for giving Newcastle an interest free loan that essentially saved us from bankruptcy. That's for sure. However, on the flip side, his stagnation and lack of investment over the entire ownership period led to us slowly turning into championship fodder. I've absolutely no doubt that the relegation under Bruce, which was going to happen, would have seen us be in the Championship for the foreseeable. The training facilities were League 1 standard, the ground was falling apart, the players were ****ing cack and our "board" consisted of a bank clerk and a scout. All the while, Ashley was hoovering up millions in his personal account & Frasers Group were spending billions buying out companies. I don't think he deserves all the hate, but he was a pretty crap owner
I was actually feeling sympathetic this morning because despite Evertons situation being highly amusing it's clearly something that needs addressing once you've been dealt with.
I'm flying out the country shortly so probably but I'll be on here to keep the spirits up when I can.
Unfortunately from February onwards things will improve like I was telling the toon board for months and was faced with all kinds of mental gymnastics to argue otherwise. I am hard, but I am fair.
It all is a bit mental I mean all of a sudden its a 10 point ban, but in the past it's been a fine or a transfer embargo. I'm fairly certain it's just them making and example of Everton and to fire a shot across the bows of any other club that thinks it can try and compete. I would expect new ules soon maybe a little more leeway .. I think that's happening soon actually ... from next season I think.
Pretty sure its going to get worse, as in you'll only be able to spend a % of your turnover on wages and transfers .
Not sure I would expect there's now a growing number of clubs that are fed up with it and the the Government regulator will be in bed with someone somewhere.
Its UEFA that the problem is with more so than PL. Government watchdog won't be able to do anything with UEFA
Are the Premier leagues rules the same regards profit and sustainability as every other country? I thought they were different.
Some big names backing the appeal for the points deduction. those 10 points will look nice come the end of the season.
That one has to go to Tottenham fans. Spurs do **** all, they win **** all, then turn around and say "Why is everyone talking about us? Why does everyone keep hating on Spurs etc". Because you dont shut the **** up....ever....you insert yourselves into everything, and then do cringe **** like give your manager gay nicknames like "Big Ange", because he won 2 matches in a row and got a draw at Old Trafford against the ****test United team since the late eighties.
Nah spurly is cool AF. He is the exception when it comes to Spurs fans. He is so cool I often doubt he is a Spurs fan, and suspect he is just trolling us.
