A 2 legged tie can’t be won in the 1st leg, but it can certainly be lost.

The goal tonight was to stay in the tie, Liverpool haven’t lost at Anfield this season and not many teams lose by a single goal there either, the sort of team that can easily put 3,4,5 past you once they get going and the 2nd leg then becomes a training match.

Yeah you’re still in the tie. Not a good result for you, though. You got beat. A good result would have been a draw or win, which you should have had but you couldn’t finish them off when the chances came your way in the first 15 minutes of the second half.
