Does anybody else have rivals that are as obsessed as Sunderland’s? Newcastle fans are still showing up at our games in their black and white tops. They turn up all over the country to watch us, it’s beyond weird. Forever obsessed.
I'm trying to work out if this is a joke @Saff . For those who aren't aware this map should help explain what "turn up all over the country to watch us" means: I grew up in Gateshead and most of the people there were, unsurprisingly, Newcastle fans.
Why are Newcastle fans wearing their black and white tops at Sunderland games? Gateshead or not? This is at Coventry. This is at Norwich Lads going to the away games say it happens all the time. We don't go to your games. It's really weird and I'm just wondering, why the obsession?
They probs live there and wear the Newcastle tops as a joke to get a reaction, which is what they get. It doesn't happen the other way around because by sheer numbers, there are less Sunderland fans
Very poor excuse. Nobody else has rivals that turn up at a lot of their games. It's fair to see you guys are obsessed with Sunderland.
I've seen Sunderland fans do it .. this idea there's a great difference in the amount of idiots when you cross a river is an interesting one.
Roker Report has 6 examples in, 8 years? Lower league footballs cheaper though so I can see the appeal For what it's worth, I've started to hate the North East er "rivalry" most Mackems you meet in person, and I do, bottle any confrontation, they always turn out to be the nicest, softest guy, who respects Newcastle. But, on the internet? They would genuinely rather shoot their kids than see a Geordie. Fake as **** Your board is a prime example of fake as ****, they're all like that
They’ll tell you because they love football or sumt never known anything like it to that kind of regularity
It's weird. Imagine Tottenham fans going into the Bournemouth end when Arsenal are playing there? Nah me neither.
Exactly "aye sure" I had one who worked on a boat here recently, we get chatting, hes a Mackem and he goes on to defend The Saudi ownership "But I wouldn't say that round the others like!" I also think for some on here, and you get this a lot from some of ours on here for them supporting Sunderland means - Mackem no matter where you're actually from
Plenty of Mackems support Newcastle. Sunderland and Newcastle fans don't go around openly admitting that they respect each others clubs. That's for the fairies. You guys are obsessed and weird, though. I wouldn't dream of turning up at one of your games in a Sunderland top. It wouldn't be funny, just plain weird, so I wouldn't do it.
It definitely happens like, I've had the convo. Just cos your lot have no conviction in your beliefs, you know? But Saff, you don't even turn up to Sunderland games in a Sunderland top so it would be extra weird for you
did you enjoy that awesome soccer game bro? Its the ****ing Man of the match. MOTM. "Player of the match" wow, radical, my Liver-pool soccer player earned himself a great player of the match award.
