Yeah I stayed in Jesmond last time and remember being surprised at the price of the drink that far north!

Was only considering it this time as I've found some cheaper hotels there and was wondering if could save a few quid using the metro. But thinking abour it pprobably not worth the faff as I'll end up using taxis anyway.

By strange coincidence I think the Jurys Inn is what I'm already booked into. Called Leonardos now? By the science centre?

Be sound if I can park there too tbh. I'll ring them up once I manage to sort the ticket.

The LIFE centre thing yeah. I remember going back to Newcastle in 2002(ish) for the first time in a couple of years and trying to park in the old Redhugh carpark. Kept circling Jury's Inn thinking "it was around here somewhere but they've build this new hotel and it's in the way of me seeing it". Took me a couple of loops to realise the hotel was probably built on where the carpark used to be.

It might well have changed name, now. I was there about 15 year ago with an escort, cocaine and champagne. Amazing night, love the place.

I'll drive. Flights went crazy expensive within hours of the dates being confirmed and even driving to Heathrow to get a cheaper deal isn't worth it once you factor in parking etc.

More freedom if I take my own car in terms of timings and I'll probably come up early and have a look around the City a bit.

Train strikes announced for next day too so some of our fans might be stranded lol.

I might have no room, still waiting on others to decide whether they're going or not.

Though if we get through then being stranded up there isn't the worst thing in the world. Less fun if we don't of course.

Anybody been following the John Yems story?

Remarkable that the conclusion was he wasn't a conscious racist when you read what he had said on multiple occasions.
