Said it before ... VAR will only work properly if used like its' equivalent in Rugby, the TMO...

Have the ref miked up ... makes the onfield decision himself then refers it to VAR/TMO if there is a doubt ... everyone gets to hear the conversation that follows, sees the slo mo from the different angles and how the relevant rules are considered in arriving at the concluding decision ... never seems to take that long in rugby, and very rare that the decision is wrong at the end ...

Problem is that football is so arrogant throughout the hierarchy that they won't consider that other sports handle the thing better ...

Some on here did say it would be an unmitigated disaster <whistle>
5 years ago, Sundays were filled with how **** refs were, now it’s how **** VAR is. We’ve come a long way !!!!

And in rugby the ref gets to choose what angles he sees, making sure he sees all that he needs to, rather than being limited to the angles a corrupt or incompetent Lee Mason decides to share with him!
